A former German anti-aircraft artillery position located near Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, France. This flak bunker was part of the Atlantic Wall defenses constructed during World War II to protect the French Atlantic coast from Allied air attacks. The 8.8cm Flak (Flugabwehrkanone) was a potent German anti-aircraft gun used extensively throughout the war. The bunker's strategic position along the Vendée coastline provided defensive coverage for the port facilities and surrounding areas.
