An encuvement pour canon, or gun emplacement, located near Saint-Lô, France. This type of structure was commonly used during World War II as part of coastal defense systems or fortified positions. The region of Normandy, where this emplacement is situated, saw extensive military fortifications during the war, particularly in preparation for and during the D-Day landings in 1944.
