La Coupole, also known as the Coupole d'Helfaut-Wizernes, is a massive Second World War bunker complex located in the Pas-de-Calais department of northern France. Originally codenamed Bauvorhaben 21 or Schotterwerk Nordwest, this concrete structure was built by Nazi German forces between 1943 and 1944. The complex was designed to serve as a launch facility for V2 rockets aimed at London, with plans to fire up to 50 rockets per day. Situated approximately 5 kilometres from Saint-Omer and 14.4 kilometers south-southeast of the English Channel, La Coupole represents one of the most ambitious military engineering projects of the war in occupied France.
