Bunkerinfo

Very little is known about the bunker in Stavoren. This would be an observation post that was used to observe Allied bombers that were on their way to the Fliegerhorst, perhaps in Leeuwarden. The bunker was built around 1942 to 1943 and was blown up by the Germans themselves on the day Stavoren was liberated. The bunker was very large and covered the entire dike. Today, only the Tobruk of the bunker remains.
