A military bunker located near Vicenza, Italy, part of the Alpine Wall (Vallo Alpino) defensive system. This extensive network of fortifications was constructed along Italy's northern frontier in the years leading up to World War II under the direction of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. The Alpine Wall stretched 1,851 km (1,150 mi) and faced France, Switzerland, Austria, and Yugoslavia, forming a critical component of Italy's border defenses.
