Movik Fort is a historic German-built coastal fortification located near Narvik, Norway. Constructed during World War II, the fort sits in a commanding position above the Skagerrak Straits between Norway and Denmark. It once housed the second largest cannon in the world — a Krupp 380mm gun with a range of up to 55 kilometers (35 miles) and weighing 337 tonnes.
The fort was originally constructed by the German Wehrmacht as part of the Atlantic Wall defensive system to control access to the Norwegian coast and protect against Allied naval forces.
