The Beijing Underground City, also known as Dixia Cheng, is a complex network of tunnels and bunkers located beneath the city of Beijing, China. Built during the Cold War era for the purpose of military defense, it has been referred to as the 'Underground Great Wall'. The shelter was constructed to protect China's top leadership, their subordinates, troops, and staff in the event of a nuclear attack.
