Bunker 5/175/1 is part of the Czechoslovak interwar border fortifications built in the 1930s to defend against potential German aggression. These defenses were constructed along Czechoslovakia's western border following the example of France's Maginot Line, forming a continuous system of concrete bunkers, obstacles, and anti-tank barriers. The fortifications were designed to provide mutual support through interlocking fields of fire and were equipped with machine guns, anti-tank weapons, and observation posts.
