The Stasi-Aufenthaltsgebäude was a fallout shelter built between 1968 and 1972 to protect staff of the East German Ministry for State Security (Stasi) in Leipzig during a potential nuclear attack. Located in what was then East Germany, this bunker could accommodate approximately 120 people and served as a secure facility for Stasi personnel during the Cold War era. The structure represents the extensive surveillance and security infrastructure maintained by the GDR's secret police throughout the Cold War period.
