Tito's Bunker, officially known as ARK D-0, is a massive underground military facility located near Konjic in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Built between 1953 and 1979 during the Cold War era, this bunker was designed to serve as a nuclear shelter for Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito and up to 350 key government and military personnel in the event of a nuclear war. The facility, which cost approximately $25 billion in today's value, was constructed deep within a mountain and features extensive living quarters, communications centers, and command facilities.
Despite its enormous cost and strategic importance, the bunker was never used for its intended purpose and remains a testament to Cold War-era military planning in the former Yugoslavia.
