Wa Ko Fest 8.8cm Flakstand is a World War II-era German anti-aircraft gun emplacement located in northern France. The site features a fortified position designed to house an 8.8cm Flak (Flugabwehrkanone) anti-aircraft artillery piece, part of the extensive Atlantic Wall coastal defenses constructed by Nazi Germany along the French coast. These installations were strategically positioned to defend against Allied air attacks and naval bombardments during the war.
The bunker complex reflects the typical Regelbau (standard design) construction methods used by German forces, with reinforced concrete structures built to withstand aerial bombing and artillery fire. The 8.8cm Flak guns were among the most effective anti-aircraft weapons of the war, capable of engaging both aerial and ground targets with high-velocity shells.
