The Amiriyah Air Raid Shelter, also known as Public Shelter No. 25, was a civilian air-raid shelter located in the Amiriyah neighborhood of Baghdad, Iraq. On February 13, 1991, during the Gulf War, the shelter was destroyed by two GBU-27 Paveway III laser-guided bombs dropped by the U.S.
Air Force, killing at least 408 civilians who had taken refuge inside. The bombing has been characterized by Human Rights Watch as a war crime. The shelter was originally built during the Saddam Hussein era as part of Iraq's civil defense infrastructure to protect civilians during times of conflict.
