The Szálasi-bunker is a World War II-era military bunker located in Hungary, near the capital Budapest. Named after Ferenc Szálasi, the leader of the fascist Arrow Cross Party who briefly ruled Hungary in 1944-1945, this bunker was part of the defensive network during the final months of the war. It was constructed as Soviet and Romanian forces encircled Budapest in late 1944, during the brutal 50-day Siege of Budapest that ended with the city's fall in February 1945.
The bunker represents the desperate defensive measures taken by Hungarian and German troops as the Eastern Front collapsed.
