Movik Fort Bunker

A military bunker located near Movik, Norway, situated in a commanding position above the Skagerrak Straits between Norway and Denmark. This historic fortification once housed the second largest cannon in the world - a Krupp 380mm artillery piece with a range of up to 55 kilometers and weighing 337 tonnes. The fort was originally constructed during World War II by German forces as part of their Atlantic Wall defensive network. Today, it stands as a testament to Norway's complex military history, from WWII occupation through the Cold War era when tensions with the Soviet Union led to renewed focus on coastal defenses.
