Bunker near Shkodër

This bunker is part of Albania's extensive Cold War-era fortification network. During the Hoxhaist regime from the 1960s to 1980s, Albania built over 750,000 concrete bunkers as part of a nationwide defense strategy against potential invasion. These ubiquitous structures were designed to be virtually indestructible and were strategically placed throughout the country's landscape, from coastal areas to mountain regions.
