A former secret nuclear fallout shelter located beneath the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Built during the Cold War era in the early 1960s, this massive bunker was designed to house the entire United States Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. The facility remained classified and operational for over three decades until its existence was revealed by a Washington Post article in 1992.
The bunker features dormitory-style sleeping quarters, a large auditorium, and communications equipment, all maintained in a constant state of readiness by government contractors working undercover as resort employees.
