New Large Hangar (Spring/Summer 2007)

Construction started between January 17, 2006 and June 10, 2007. Our June 29, 2009 satellite image for the first time shows the completed new hangar. Footprint: 185x345 ft. (56x104 m) Height: 95 ft. (29 m) Hangar door width: 175 ft. (53 m) Built for the P-ISR ("Persistent Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaisance") project. Initially it was a competition between Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and Boeing. Eventually Northrop received the contract to build a still-classified UAV dubbed "RQ-180" in popular literature.
