Bunker-42 is a massive underground fortification located in downtown Moscow, Russia. Built during the Cold War era as a response to the United States' development of nuclear weapons, this facility was designed to protect Soviet leadership in the event of a nuclear attack. The bunker, which covers an area of 1.7 acres and is buried more than 200 feet below ground, is situated near the Tagansky metro station in Moscow.

Originally constructed to house high-ranking Soviet officials, including Stalin himself, Bunker-42 has since been converted into a museum and tourist attraction. Visitors can now explore the Dr. Strangelove-esque interior of the bunker through guided tours, gaining insight into the Cold War era and the Soviet Union's preparations for potential nuclear conflict. The facility serves as a unique historical monument, offering a glimpse into the mindset and defensive strategies of the Soviet government during one of the most tense periods of the 20th century.
