Description

Pillbox at medieval preceptory and 16th century house, and scheduled with them. 1941 Pillbox built within chapel. At least three loopholes constructed through external medieval walls. 03/05/2003 The pillbox that was built within the chapel of the preceptory has been demolished, possibly when consolidation and repair works were carried out in 1994.

This has happened despite the pillbox being scheduled with the rest of the structure. One of the loopholes built in tne N-facing chapel wall appears to have been rebuilt, and an information board affixed alongside with information on the Second World War use of the site: this information is misleading.
