Description

23/01/2000 Flame barrage, petroleum warfare site. There is almost nothing left of the site - control bunker, observation post, storage tanks and flame barrage delivery pipes. The recorder remembers the control bunker as his father used to rent an allotment close to the site. The tanks that stored the oil were removed about 10 years ago (1990).

The observation post and delivery pipes have also been removed. 23/01/2000 Home Guard store. All four walls and roof intact, door missing. Inside is nothing of relevance. It is believed that it has been used as a gamekeepers hut, as it was once in the grounds of a large country estate.

It can be seen from the side of the B1200 road and now stands in the grounds of the Kenwick leisure complex.
