The Tourelle des Caves is a French military bunker located near Albertville, Savoie, in the French Alps. Built as part of France's pre-World War II defensive preparations, it is a STG (Station de Tourelle de Gavarnie) model 1935-1937, designed to house a Hotchkiss 8mm Model 1914 machine gun. This type of turret was part of a broader effort to modernize France's Alpine fortifications in anticipation of potential threats from Italy.
The structure exemplifies the defensive architecture of the late 1930s, combining mobility and firepower in a compact, reinforced design.
