1995 Wheatcroft Battery exists archaeologically only now, with the exception of two pre-war houses - Wheatcroft Lodge and Melton - which were requisitioned for use in connection with the battery. Otherwise, there are no standing structures surviving, only earthworks. Earthwork depressions are to the sites of searchlights (2) , 6in gun sites (2) , magazine, battery observation post, possible spigot mortar pit, as well as many other battery points (see additional information with this record).
