Project Greek Island was a secret United States government continuity program located at the Greenbrier hotel in West Virginia. The facility, originally code-named "Project Casper," was designed to house and protect members of Congress in the event of a nuclear attack during the Cold War. The bunker remained operational from the early 1960s until 1992, when it was exposed by The Washington Post and subsequently decommissioned.
Today, it is known as the Greenbrier Bunker and serves as a historical tourist attraction.
