The Līgatne Soviet Bunker, constructed 9 meters beneath the ground in rural Latvia, was a top-secret facility designed to shelter the country's Communist elite in the event of a hypothetical nuclear war. Built during the Cold War era, this underground complex remained shrouded in secrecy for decades, with even employees of the adjacent rehabilitation center unaware of its existence for 30 years. Today, the bunker serves as a museum, displaying authentic Soviet-era exhibits that have survived since its operational days, offering visitors a glimpse into the atmosphere and preparedness of the Soviet military infrastructure.
