Bejucal Missile Crisis Bunker

A military bunker located near Bejucal, Cuba, this site gained historical significance during the Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962. According to historical accounts, nuclear warheads were dispersed from this bunker to other locations across Cuba during the height of the crisis on the night of October 26-27, 1962. The bunker system includes trenches and defensive positions along the Cuban coast, where researchers have discovered defiant messages written by Cuban soldiers during this tense period, declaring that surrender was not an option.
