The position would cover the road bridge and the river in both directions. 1950 Spigot mortar on S bank of River Bure, given military Grid reference 871295 in list of Temporary Defence Works to be removed, 1950 (Norfolk Record Office). (This documentary reference may be to this record, or UORN 12827) 27/06/2001 Spigot mortar pedestal near bank of river, in an area used as a car park. Steel pintle has WD on it. Public access.
