Description

This research is automated and may contain errors.

10/1995 A demolished pillbox of reinforced concrete was sited on the N end of a spur of land with views to the N across Greenland Farm and Brands Bay. More of the structure probably lies buried under vegetation and soil. The site was blown up by the army after the war. The concrete from the structure now lies scattered across the area.

The site is covered in gorse and heather. 2004 Varying size sections of concrete cover a 20m radius emananting from two substantial concrete and reinforcing bar masses. Some sections substantial while others fragmentary. One section indicates that one face of the pillbox had three embrasures, but the overall shape is uncertain.
