Built with concrete blocks, it has 14ins thick walls and a 9ins thick roof. This pillbox must be unique as it is in excellent condition and has been converted for use as the Box Office for the outdoor Minack Theatre. It was one of ten built to protect the Cable and Wireless Telecommunications Centre in Porthcurno. [The pillbox has now been demolished and a purpose-built booking office erected - information from Christine Finn, 25.8.99].

Source: Corrected Defence of Britain Records Click here for more details

EDOBID: e15248

Last Edited:

Images: None
