This 8-kilometer stretch of coastline saw intense fighting between Allied forces and German defenders during the Second World War.
The area is now a significant site of military heritage and remembrance, with numerous fortifications and bunkers remaining from the Atlantic Wall defenses constructed by Nazi Germany.
