1941 Surviving section of anti-tank ditch, substantially dry, running W-E on E side of Cuckmere River below cliffs (shown on German map of British defences and German and British aerial photographs). There is a high rampart in front of the anti-tank ditch which may have been a pre-existing sea bank: beyond that is the shingle bank of the sea front. (see also UORN 14647 for infilled portion of ditch).
