11/10/1995 Pillbox, unknown type: now DESTROYED (approx. 1958-60) for building of chalets (in 1940 these had been demolished for its construction). Two attempts were made to blow up the pillbox, but finally it had to be demolished by hand. 27/06/1941 Pillbox seen on oblique air photograph.
A concrete plinth is all that remains of a square pillbox facing approx S. It was camouflaged with a ridge roof with a gable over the doorway, which faced seawards. A hatch provided access into roof void and the walls were green timber cladding over shuttered concrete. There were single loopholes with steel visors on all 3 main faces and one either side of the doorway on 4th face.
Similar in design to PRN 35381 at Blue Anchor. (1)
