03/1994 Emergency coast defence battery. Some underground works remain on top of hill. A few pieces of brick and concrete. Battery was armed with two ex-naval 6in guns and manned by 352 Bty RA. WO 33/1861 - Notes on inspection 1940 - a good battery, guns and accommodation. WO 199/2592 - 1943 battery reduced to Home Guard status. 05/2000 Coastal battery. Partial remains of battery visible. Subject to extensive coastal erosion. (information from 1988 aerial photographs).
