Description

09/01/2000 Large anti tank blocks, approx. 5ft (high) x 4ft, closely spaced, set around three sides of a large field (purpose unclear). Other lines of concrete blocks lie to the W of the road, and to the N of Cripps Corner. 01/06/1941 Anti-tank blocks are indicated on German map at this point.

12/12/2003 23 x anti-tank cubes run parallel with the road along the hedgerow for 100 yards; 51 x cubes (with possibly three missing to create a field entrance) along the S field edge; and 61 x cubes along the E field edge as far as Greenden Wood - 135 cubes in all. They are of the standard Cripps Corner type, standing between 4-5ft high, although with some 2ft buried, and 4ft broad. Two sides of the tops are chamfered.

The field is uncultivated at present and the cubes can be inspected.
