Povstalecké obranné opevnenie refers to defensive fortifications built during the Slovak National Uprising (Slovenské národné povstanie) in August 1944. These fortifications were constructed by Slovak resistance forces as part of their armed uprising against the German occupation of Slovakia and the authoritarian regime of Jozef Tiso. The defensive structures were built to protect key positions and strategic locations during the uprising, which began on August 29, 1944, as a response to the German military's entry into the territory of the wartime Slovak Republic.
