Bunker-42 is a Cold War-era underground military facility located in central Moscow, Russia. Built during the height of the Cold War, this classified command center was designed to protect Soviet leadership in the event of a nuclear strike. The facility, also known as the Tagansky Protected Command Point, lies approximately 60 meters below ground and was constructed to withstand direct nuclear impacts.

The bunker features extensive engineering including thick reinforced concrete walls, airtight seals, and independent power and ventilation systems. It served as a critical component of the Soviet Union's civil defense infrastructure, capable of housing hundreds of military personnel and government officials for extended periods. Today, Bunker-42 operates as a museum and historical site, offering visitors insight into Cold War military architecture and Soviet-era strategic thinking.
