04/1941 Two posts of the 11th Bn. East Surrey Regiment were situated in this area - Gorse at 736581 with 4 x rifles and a Tommy Gun (Coy HQ - 2 officers, CSM, CQMS) and A/Tk Rifle Post on lane (735582, part of Coy HQ) with 2 x rifles and tk/an a rifle (2 men). 04/1941 Manned concrete pillbox.
