A unique piece of Cold War history, the Danish military bunker and nuclear attack-proof fortress known as REGAN Vest is located near Rold Skov in northern Jutland. This top-secret atomic bunker was built to withstand a nuclear attack and served as a command center for Danish government continuity in the event of war. The bunker remained operational during the Cold War as part of NATO's 24-hour military surveillance of Soviet and Warsaw Pact activities.
Today, it has been transformed into an astonishing subterranean museum that offers visitors a glimpse into the paranoia and preparedness of the Cold War era.
