La Coupole, also known as the Coupole d'Helfaut-Wizernes, is a massive Second World War bunker complex located in the Pas-de-Calais department of northern France. Originally codenamed Bauvorhaben 21 ('Building Project 21') or Schotterwerk Nordwest (Northwest Gravel Works), this underground facility was constructed by Nazi Germany between 1943 and 1944 as part of their V-weapons program. The complex is situated approximately 5 kilometres from Saint-Omer and 14.4 kilometers south-southeast of the English Channel coast, strategically positioned for launching V-2 rockets against Allied targets.
