Windmill used as observation post. A photograph in Essex Windmills, Millers and Millwrights (see reference ) confirms the mills wartime use as a soldier and military vehicle is shown at the mill. A platform built during the war was removed many years before the mills destruction in 1963. (with drawings on the form).
