Deep beneath the streets of central Tehran, Iran had built a fortified underground command center designed to keep the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei alive and in control during the worst conceivable attack. The secret bunker was believed to be an impenetrable refuge for the Iranian leader. However, in a strike confirmed by the Israel Defense Forces, approximately 50 Israeli fighter jets destroyed the underground facility.
