It served as a secure shelter and command center, containing nine comfortable apartments, an office, and a headquarters with a secured phone line.
The bunker was part of a larger defensive network that included two additional bunkers and eight escape tunnels, reflecting the paranoid security measures of Romania's communist leadership during the Cold War period.
