A military bunker located near Rome, Italy. The area around Rome has a rich military history, including the Savoy bunker at Villa Ada, which was designed for Italy's former royal family during World War II. Italy's Alpine Wall (Vallo Alpino) system of fortifications, built under Benito Mussolini's direction, defended the northern frontier against France, Switzerland, Austria, and Yugoslavia.
These defensive structures were manned by the Guardia alla Frontiera (Ga F), Italy's special frontier troops.
