A military bunker located near Wetzlar, Germany. The site is part of the extensive Atlantikwall fortifications constructed by the German Army during World War II. These defensive positions were designed to protect against Allied invasions and consisted of numerous bunkers and obstacles.
The Atlantikwall in France alone utilized over 17,000,000 cubic meters of concrete and 1,200,000 tonnes of steel, highlighting the massive scale of the construction efforts. The German Army made regular status reports and maps of the construction progress, known as Baufortschrittsmeldung or Baufortschrittskarte, which were filed for administrative purposes.
