Description

A Cold War-era bunker complex located at the Wurzenpass mountain pass in Carinthia, Austria. During the Cold War, Austria constructed a secret network of bunkers, positions, and obstacles to maintain its neutrality and deter potential invasions by either NATO or Warsaw Pact forces, aiming to prevent a foreign attack or transit through its territory. The site is now part of the Bunker Museum Wurzenpass, which showcases the country's largest defence network from 1963 to 2002, featuring original bunkers, communication trenches, and weapon systems.
