The Greenbrier Bunker, also known as Project Greek Island, was a secret United States government continuity facility located beneath the Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Constructed during the Cold War era, the bunker was designed to house and protect members of Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. The facility remained classified and operational from the 1950s until its exposure by The Washington Post in 1992, after which it was decommissioned.
Today, the site serves as a historical attraction, offering tours that highlight its role in Cold War military preparedness and civil defense.
