19/06/1995 Coastal battery site of 2 x 6in XII guns. A hutted camp was built and CASLs, and the site was named Ramparts. The guns and CASLs were emplaced on the seawall, which was strengthened for the purpose. They were moved to the mouth of the River Deben near Bawdsey in Jan. /Feb. 1942.
