02/1999 This anti-tank wall was built across the Portloe Harbour slipway to deny access to enemy tanks etc. Two thirds of the original wall still exists in good condition. A gap was left at the time of building to allow access by boats etc. This gap would have been closed by moveable concrete blocks in the event of an invasion.
This wall is unusual as it measures 52in in width, compared with the usual 48in of other similar walls found in Cornwall. Height varies from four to five feet. Constructed with concrete blocks with a concrete infill.
