20/06/2001 25+ anti-tank pimples on N bank of the River Wey in at least three rows, close to the Waverley Abbey ruins. Some pimples have iron rings set in the top. A tree nearby has the carved inscription, Bond, Sgt. Pioneer Corp, 1941. (see photo p6, 20th Century Defences in Britain).

This inscription is now very hard to see. (It is conjectured - see BBC2 programme Invasion! shown on 11. 11. 01 - that steel hawsers were connected to the iron rings on the pimples and stretched across the river: one of these hawsers is said to lie at SU 868452). 06/07/1988 71 x anti-tank pimples in this area.

(Ref: 61/SU84 and SU84/63). 1985 Anti-tank pimples in at least four rows. 25/05/2000 Anti-tank pimples, some with iron loops set at the top. 20/06/2001 25+ anti-tank pimples on N bank of the River Wey in at least three rows, close to the Waverley Abbey ruins. Some pimples have iron rings set in the top.
