Ouvrage Hochwald is a major fortification of the Maginot Line, located on the Hochwald ridge in the Fortified Sector of Haguenau, northeastern France. Built between 1930 and 1935 as part of France's massive defensive system against potential German invasion, this gros ouvrage represents one of the largest and most sophisticated fortifications in the Maginot Line. The structure was designed to protect the northern Vosges region and control key terrain features in the Alsace area.
