A substantial, unfinished World War Two military bunker located in the Sliema/St. Julian's area of Malta. The structure is a testament to the intense fortification efforts on the island during the war, when Malta was one of the most heavily bombed places on earth. Its incomplete state offers a unique archaeological snapshot of wartime construction techniques and the abrupt end of some defensive projects.

For approximately 70 years following the war, the bunker remained sealed and largely forgotten, filled with the remnants of its hurried construction and abandonment. Its recent opening to the public, organized by the heritage NGO Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna, provides a rare opportunity to witness an authentic, untouched wartime interior. Guided tours include historical context and archive maps detailing the complex's intended war rooms and layout.

The bunker's geographical context is significant; Malta's strategic position in the Central Mediterranean made it a critical Allied base, leading to the construction of extensive underground networks for command, communication, and protection. This particular site represents the scale of the island's defensive infrastructure, which included thousands of pillboxes, tunnels, and underground complexes. Today, it serves as a poignant historical attraction and an important resource for understanding Malta's pivotal role in the conflict.
